Intro and Symbaloo!

Hi everybody!

My name is Mike. I am a librarian and technology teacher at two elementary schools in Glens Falls, NY. This is my third year teaching and I have loved every minute. I see my students on a fixed 6 day schedule for 40 minute blocks. Some classes I see more than once a week. During those 40 minutes I am technically suppose to spend half in the library teaching "library skills" and the other half in the computer lab teaching "computer skills." However, they are not independent of eachother. I would be doing a disservice to the kids if I taught one without the other.

Plus, I am obsessed with Web 2.0 tools and integrating them into lessons.

So here is the inspiration for the blog: I have been working on a webmix on an awesome site, Symbaloo, for the past few months. A webmix full of everything that I have ever done with my students. I found out, due to budget cuts, that I will be moving on up to the High School next year.

I will be using this blog to post about sites on my webmix and how to use them in the classroom (what I used them for, what they could be used for, what standards they hit on in New York State).
